A Spalding County E911 dispatcher has been arrested on drug related charges.
The Spalding County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday arrested Susan Kimberly Lynch, age 59, on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects and operating a disorderly house.
Lynch was arrested at her Kilgore Road residence.
“On August 16, 2022, Spalding County Fugitive Apprehension deputies went to a residence to serve an arrest warrant on an individual they believed was residing there. While searching the inside the residence for the suspect they observed in plain view what they believed was methamphetamine, and multiple pieces of drug related paraphernalia,” said Sheriff Darrell Dix. “As a result, they contacted Spalding Country Special Operations and Criminal Investigators who responded to the scene, and it was secured until a search warrant was obtained. Subsequently, investigators recovered methamphetamine and drug related objects throughout the residence. Warrants were obtained for Lynch, and she has been taken into custody. She is currently being housed in the Spalding County Jail.”
Based on Lynch’s employment as a dispatcher, the Sheriff’s Office contacted Spalding County E911 Director Rico McCrary, who was briefed on the arrest.
“It’s a fact that if you are going to police in a community, you have to be willing to police your own. In this case, Lynch worked with public safety, and she made a conscious choice to violate the law. She violated the trust of the public safety officers she dispatched on calls in the course of her job, and she violated the trust of the community she served,” Dix said. “You pay the price when you play that game. She chose wrong over what she knew was right, and she lost.”
