SHEILA A. MATHEWS :::
A Griffin man was injured today when his vehicle struck a store in The Flats.
The incident occurred Sunday afternoon at Sam’s Check Cashing Store located at 1303 N. Hill St.
“He mistook the brake for the gas and went into the building. The driver is complaining of injuries but there are no other injuries,“ said Maj. Dwayne Jones, of the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office. “There were other people there, but they were not involved in the crash, nor were they injured. There was damage to the building.”
The driver, a 71-year-old man who was not identified, sustained what is believed to be minor injuries, and was transported by ambulance to the emergency room of WellStar Spalding Regional Medical Center.
